Samui Monkey Theater in Thailand

In the past, prior to the tourism boom in Samui, coconuts were the primary industry here. In the southern provinces of Thailand, monkeys were employed by humans to assist in coconut harvesting. Due to their adept climbing abilities and quick dexterity, monkeys served as invaluable helpers to farmers.

Unique Samui Monkey performances can be experienced at the outdoor theater. These monkeys are descendants of those originally trained to work in coconut groves and gather the fruits. At the Samui Monkey Theater, each monkey undergoes training at a special school where they are instructed in coconut-picking techniques and how to interact with humans. Additionally, they are taught how to work safely. The monkey shows are sure to entertain you and provide an enjoyable experience.
